What Toot Tots is

Toot Tots is a free browser game where you play a baby in a diaper with a fart gun. It is a first-person party shooter: you run around a daycare or a pillow fort, toot the other babies, and try to make them puke. You can play solo against bots, with up to four people on one computer in split screen, or online with friends using a 6-digit code.

You play it at wavebattler.com/toottots on a computer with a keyboard and mouse or a game controller. It doesn't run on phones. This guide covers the rules, every control, the four babies and the modes. When you have the basics, the weapons and movement guide goes deeper.

The rules: red, potty, puke

Every baby can take two hits. The whole game is built around what happens between the first and the second.

   Get tooted once and you turn red

   Any hit from a fart gun turns a baby red. Red babies have 🥵 over their head and move about 20% slower. They still sprint, jump and shoot.

   Flush on a flying potty

   Potties fly in, sit on the ground for 11 to 15 seconds, then fly off again. Stand on one for just over a second while you're red and you flush back to normal.

   Get tooted again and you puke

   A second hit while you're red makes you puke. The baby who hit you scores a point. A few seconds later you come back with a short bubble shield.

There are two shortcuts to an instant puke. A Stink Sniper headshot pukes a baby in one shot, and so does the Bean Pump fired point-blank. Right after you turn red you get 0.9 seconds of grace where body hits don't count, so one long spray can't puke you in a single go. Headshots ignore that grace.

Toot Tots controls

Click the game once to lock the mouse. A PS5 DualSense or Xbox controller works for every action, and the game adds light aim help and rumble on a controller.

On a controller, sprint is a switch: click the left stick once and you keep sprinting until you let go of the stick. In the menus the D-pad moves, ✕ presses and ○ goes back.

The four babies and their fart guns

Before every match you get 10 seconds to pick your baby. Use the arrow keys or 1 to 4 and press Space to lock in. On a controller, use the D-pad or L1 / R1 and press ✕. The babies all move the same way. The gun is what changes.

Every baby also carries the Stink Sniper as a second weapon. It holds four shots, has a very long range (140 m) and pukes on a headshot. Swap to it with Q or △.

Modes, maps and match settings

• Every Baby For Themself: free-for-all. Make the most babies puke. First to 5, 7 or 10 pukes wins.
• Team Diaper: Team Bottle (blue) against Team Binky (pink). Every puke counts for your team. Play to 7, 10 or 15.
• Capture the Flag: steal the other team's diaper flag and bring it home. Play to 2, 3 or 5 flags. This mode always uses Pillow Fort Showdown. The Capture the Flag guide covers it in detail.

There are two maps. Lil' Tooters Daycare is small and busy, with classrooms, a ball pit, a sandbox and a playground with a slide tower; it suits 2 to 6 babies. Pillow Fort Showdown is big, with two forts, a castle with slides and sniper towers; it suits 6 to 10 babies.

On the match screen you choose how many babies play (2, 4, 6, 8 or 10), the time (3, 5 or 8 minutes) and the bots. Bots fill every spot that no person takes. The bot names run backwards: Dumb bots aim best and dodge most, Dumbest bots aim worst. If the time runs out on a tie, the game goes to Sudden Spew and the next puke or capture wins.

Playing with friends: split screen and online

Split screen: plug in or pair extra controllers, go to the match screen and press ✕ / A on each new controller to add a player. Up to four people play on one computer. Two players split the screen top and bottom; three or four get a quarter each. Player 1 can stay on keyboard and mouse. The controller setup guide explains pairing a PS5 or Xbox pad.

Online: choose Online, host a game and you get a 6-digit code. Friends type the code in, or open the invite link you copy for them. A game holds up to 10 babies. Friends can join while a match is running and take over one of the bots.

Tips for your first match

• Look for the potty tags. Every potty on the ground has a 🚽 tag with its distance in metres and a light beam above it. On the minimap, potties grow bigger while you're red.
• When you're red, run first. A red baby who keeps fighting usually pukes. Sprint to the nearest potty, flush, then go back in.
• Finish the red ones. A baby with 🥵 over its head needs only one more hit. That's the easiest point on the map.
• Use your bubble. You come back with a 2.5 second bubble shield. Shooting, fart-jumping or using the butt-jet pops it early.
• Grab snacks. Yellow rings on the floor hold power-ups like the Warm Bottle, which cures red on the spot.
